Transcript
Pinky: Bunny, can I have the Cat Power?
[sound of recorded music starting in background]
Bunny: Okay. Go.
Pinky: Okay thank you. [mic handling noise] Oops sorry. Hi. My name is Pinky. This is my friend Bunny.
Bunny: Hey.
Pinky: We're cats. We live way out here, in the desert, pretty much in the middle of nowhere. It's really peaceful around here - we wanted a nice, quiet place where we could just settle down a bit, read, talk, and basically just be able to think things through really carefully without a lot of distractions.
We're working on a long-term project - it's called 'The Pinky Show'. it's basically a super lo-tech mini-program, and when I say 'mini', I mean, all of our episodes are really short - short enough that you can probably watch a whole episode before you'd be able to finish a donut and a cup of coffee.
The basic premise of our show is very simple: our goal is to always be learning new information, new ways of seeing. Every episode, we'll start by asking a simple question, and then for the rest of the show we'll try our best to find an answer. Pretty simple right? Sometimes we'll do the research ourselves, sometimes we'll interview others, but always we try to keep everything honest and down to earth, in a way that human beings can easily understand...
Um, Bunny, can you show them our favorite topics?
[slide projector fan goes on]
* Pinky Show "favorite topics"
* obscure histories
* marginalized perspectives
* suppressed knowledge
* misinformation
* (drawings of various smiling objects)
Pinky: Uh, off please. We make our own illustrations... So anyway, yeah, that's The Pinky Show: mini-reports against ignorance and stupidity, that's what we're trying to do. Let's go learn something together, okay? Till then - bye bye!
