[ Pinky & Bunny at desk ]
Pinky: Hi. This is Bunny, and I'm Pinky. We're from The Pinky Show. Let's use YouTube to make a movie! Here's my idea. I'm going to post a question about something I've been thinking about for a few years, and anybody who has an answer, or an opinion, please post it. A video reply is even better. So here's my question...
A long time ago, Malcolm X said something like - and I'm paraphrasing here - "I am not an American. I'm a victim of Americanism".
So my question is, What is Americanism? I've been thinking about what he meant by that, but I'm also really interested in what other people think Americanism is too - how it affects the way we think, how it affects the way we relate to others and the rest of the world, how it relates to privilege, power, life!
So, if you have any comments about this idea - Americanism - please take a few minutes and post a comment or make a video reply. Oh! If you want to go out and interview people out there on the streets with a camcorder, that would be good. Anybody want to ask Noam Chomsky for us? Ann Coulter? Anybody!
Here at The Pinky Show we don't have a travel budget for going all over the world to interview people. So we thought maybe we could just put this out there, and then edit together the replies & comments to make some kind of big YouTube movie.
Anyway if you like the idea, I hope you participate. Thank you.
